CSS pMachine Templates for Weblogs
This is a simple collection of example templates for
pMachine.
They are based around a variety of layouts (obtained from the sites in the left menu) and cover some of the common style of weblogs currently used.
By modifying the HTML and the CSS these templates can serve as the basis for many standard two and three column weblog layouts.
A warning for people! These templates are not pretty - the emphasis is on the CSS, the layout and the use of the pMachine tags
- your job is to turn them into your own and add the elements that'll make a striking and memorable weblog. I have also avoided the use
of CSS hacks. This means these layouts are designed to display in modern browsers, IE 6, Mozilla 1.2+, Opera 5+, Netscape 6+. If you wish to
hack the CSS to accommodate different browsers and versions then refer to sites like
Glish.com,
Centricle and
CSS-discuss.
I have included comments throughout the files about how the layouts were created and the use of pMachine tags in the layout.
Included in the zip file with the layouts is the
install.html file which explains in more detail how to
install the templates. Also in this file is a breakdown of what changes were made to the pMachine internal templates to get them to
work with these templates. You will need to make these changes also for the Templates to display exactly as they do here. I'd recommend
playing around with this as you go.
These templates are designed using CSS and should display in older browsers as unstyled but readable content.
Email me if you have any problems with any of them.
